Now Google Tips: When you type http://www.google.com/ in a browser address bar, Google automatically redirects the page to a localized version depending on your IP address and browser settings. For instance if you browse in India, http://www.google.com/ will be automatically redirect to http://www.google.co.in/.

For any reason (travelers to China, don't want to use Chinese version of Google search) if you don't want to use localized version of Google search, use the URL http://www.google.com/webhp instead of http://www.google.com/. Alternatively you can click on "Google.com in English" if it is available in the localized pages.
